With almost 10 years’ experience in accident repair jobs, the team at acciDent Guru have developed a program called “carSave” where we try to save cars from the “write-off” graveyard.
It is nowadays common practice for an insurance company to “write-off” a car although the damage does not appear to be significant. When the parts bill on a repair becomes high (airbags deployed, or a xenon headlamp damaged for example) the car is classified as “uneconomical to repair”. The car is then eventually sold on an auction at a highly inflated price to someone who rebuilds the car privately on a very low budget and then sells this badly repaired vehicle as a secondhand vehicle to an unsuspecting buyer. It is almost a perfect value chain where every party benefit – except the car’s original owner and the unsuspecting buyer.
The team at acciDent Guru has taken a stand against this practice and we developed carSave where we utilize our experience in part sourcing to reduce the cost of repair on a major accident repair job to below the so-called “write-off” value, simply by reducing the parts portion of the total repair and maintaining the same level of quality,in terms of labour and paint, as on all our other jobs.
We also offer carSave to all private clients that might have had their insurance claims repudiated for any of the (sometimes frivolous) reasons used by most direct insurers (when no broker is present and you are only consulted via telephone recordings). Examples of this is where a claim is repudiated because the license of the car was not valid or the vehicles front tires are worn, when the car was damaged at the back, while reversing! We assist clients in cases like this to repair their cars at a much-reduced cost, as in most cases they do not have an option as the car is still financed and they must still fork out the monthly premium.
