acciDent Guru is an automotive body repair business located next to McCarthy Toyota Table View. Next to us is a company that designs and manufactures, specialised armoured vehicles that are completely discreet. Meaning they offer protection against assault rifles. This company is called SVI Engineering. We are approved by SAMBRA (The South African Motor Body Repairers Association) to do MSR (Major Structural Repairs) which is the highest possible grading. We also work for other large fleet owners (like AVIS Fleet, National Security, G4S Secure and Golden Arrow Bus Services) and large car dealers (like Volkswagen Table View, ROLA Volkswagen and McCarthy Toyota). All these companies need their vehicles on the road or on the showroom (not in a workshop).Hence, we understand the importance of quick turnaround times. Our Fleet Vehicle Repair And Armoured Vehicle Repair Story:
In addition to our normal Car Body Repair business, over the past 3 years, we have also developed a specialist division where we repair armoured and fleet vehicles. Early in 2020, acciDent Guru was appointed by SVI Engineering as the only authorised repair centre in Cape Town. SVI Engineering is based in Pretoria, and it turned out to be a very costly exercise for them to send technicians down every time they had a problem on one of their armoured vehicles. It was also not cost-effective to send the vehicles back to Pretoria. Further to this, they found that most normal Motor Body Repairers / Panel Beaters and OEM dealers do not want to touch an armoured vehicle that was involved in an accident or that had a mechanical or electrical problem. So, to assist them, we built a specialist facility with trained personnel that were trained to remove all armoured materials (including metal plates, composite materials, and all bullet proof glass) carefully and to re-assemble these parts after the repairs were conducted.
Our mainstream of repairs is on the Non-Discreet B6 level Toyota Hilux security vehicles which are involved in shooting incidents and accidents on a weekly basis. We repair all these vehicles in our new facility, and we ensure that the technical and ballistic integrity of the armour package is not compromised in an accident. However, we also work on their other Discreet Vehicles (BMW, Range Rover, Land Cruisers, etc.) whenever they have mechanical issues, electrical issues or when these vehicles are involved in an accident.

accident Guru also has replacement body panels (Front Fenders, Doors, Load boxes and Bumpers) at our cost in stock so that if one of your vehicles is in an accident or shooting incident, we can quickly replace the panels and get the vehicles back to you, while we can then repair the damaged panels (if repairable) in our own time and put them back in our stock.
Seeing that the vehicles are similar in colour and branding – we can even have the panels painted and branded beforehand so that the repair process is even shorter. (This is a similar system to what mechanical workshops do with engine and gearbox exchanges and because fleet vehicles are normally the same this works really well on body panels as well.)
We can also address any issues on the armour plating side (if applicable) – if there is any work or maintenance required on the doors or on the glass we can do this at the same time.
